Somerset Sight is looking for an experienced Marketing & Communications Officer (part time 21 hours) to deliver on a wide portfolio of communication platforms and to drive our charity forward in the conventional and digital world, sharing our story & impact, attracting volunteers, and raising awareness of sight loss.
Somerset Sight is an ambitious and thriving organisation, working in partnership to deliver effective support for people with sight loss across the whole county.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for marketing and technology, can engage effectively with journalists and write good copy, has a creative eye for designing and producing visual analytics and infographics, together with the ability to craft engaging written word and social media content across all platforms. You will possess a hard-working, positive attitude and will be a team player. You will have a proactive approach to problem solving and ability to manage your own workload and use initiative. You may have to work occasional weekends and evenings and will be committed to working for a not for profit organisation and all that it involves.
This is a new post and there will be opportunity to develop and shape the role. It will involve working closely with the small staff team and some volunteers across the organisation including adult and children’s services, fundraising and events.
