Sailing on Wimbleball
Wednesday, May 25, 2016

On Wednesday 18th May we organised our first sailing trip to Wimbleball Lake.

David Ridgway from Bridgwater, Bridget Wren and Julie Sparks from Wellington joined Jo Thomas our activity officer for a mornings sailing experience followed by a picnic lunch.  The rain stayed off for their sail and it turned out to be a fine day.

Everyone who attended enjoyed themselves hugely. Bridget Wrenn said ‘it was a wonderful sensory experience and I loved every minute of it.’

Jo was thrilled that everyone enjoyed themselves so much and wants to thank the Sailability volunteers at Wimbleball Lake for their support.

Somerset Sight can help more blind and partially sighted people access sailing at Wimbleball lake on a Wednesdays and Friday mornings over the summer.  We are also looking for more volunteers to assist with activities and driving.

If you are interested please contact Jo Thomas on jo@somersetsight.org.uk or 01823 366145.
