Exeter Christmas Market Trip
Thursday, December 7, 2017

We have recently supported a group of blind and partially sighted people from across Somerset to attend Exeter’s wonderful Christmas Market.

Two groups set off from Taunton and Yeovil stations and met in Exeter for a day of shopping and socialising.

The market boasts an exciting mix of local and continental traders and there was much for the group to experience and enjoy including touching tactile sculptures, listening to local buskers and sampling a range of delicious treats.

The group had lunch in a local café and took the opportunity to visit the Cathedral where they contributed to the Big LEGO® build of the Cathedral using 300,000 LEGO bricks.  This is an exciting project helping the public to discover and engage with the challenges of maintaining the cathedral.

We are looking for new volunteers to help with outings for our visually impaired members.  If you are interested in this opportunity please contact Heidi on 01823 333818 or Heidi@somersetsight.org.uk
