Somerset Sight recently took a group of 60 people to a very special performance of Cinderella at the Octagon Theatre in Yeovil.
Before the show the theatre provided a touch tour on stage where the children met one of the ugly sisters and got to feel the props such as Cinderella’s ball gown and the sparkling slipper she lost at the ball. This was the very first touch tour the Octagon has provided.
Hollie Sutton from Somerset Sight said 'the touch tour was very interactive and all the children got involved. It was a fantastic performance and the highlight was the snow that was sent showering over the audience which all the children enjoyed thoroughly. Our thanks goes to The Octagon for organising the touch tour and to BBC Children in Need for helping us fund activities for visually impaired children across the county.'
If you have a visually impaired child and would like to know more about activities, or would like to get involved as a volunteer please contact Hollie on 01823 333818 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
