Fraud Protection Talk
At the November Dave’s Diner at Northfield House, a member of the Avon and Somerset Fraud Protection Team came to speak with the group about the many different ways people can obtain your personal details or money.
The thirty people who attended said they found it very interesting and helpful, and there were a couple of people there who had been scammed, sadly.
A booklet called The Little Book of Scams was handed out but there is also an online copy available:

A good rule of thumb is Take 5 and Tell 2
In any scenario where you are unsure about the communication you have received, take 5 minutes away from it to think about what is being asked of you, and then tell 2 people about it. It’s a simple technique, but it could save you a fortune.
If you think you may be a victim of a scam or someone is trying to obtain information from you call 101 and tell the police. You are not alone.
