Emotional Support
Somerset Sight provides an in house emotional support service which is pivotal in helping individuals, relatives and carers to come to terms with all aspects of sight impairment and the emotional difficulties that can ensue. Sessions are delivered by our experienced and qualified practitioner Graham who has a significant visual impairment himself. Sessions are available in person at Northfield House in Taunton or over the telephone. There is no waiting list and support can be offered immediately.
How do sessions help?
Talking through your feelings and frustrations with someone outside your immediate circle of friends and relatives can be enormously beneficial.
This service helps people feel better able to manage with life’s challenges and find ways to move on with their lives.
Who are they for?
Support is available for anyone with a visual impairment, their families and those who care for them. People come to us who are recently diagnosed or have experienced a sudden loss of sight.
We also have supported people who have been visually impaired for some time and are finding it hard to manage.
